Newark Amateur Operatic Society (NAOS) is pleased to announce that their show for 2012 will be the ever popular ‘Me and My Girl’ and will run from 19th March to 24th March at the Newark Palace Theatre. Read more about the production on our special web site here.
The show follows on the footsteps of the highly successful ‘Jesus Christ Super Star’ and sees a return to a toe-tapping show set in the 1930’s that will have the audiences singing the memorable tunes as they leave the theatre. The show features a wealth of popular songs including ‘The Lambeth Walk’, ‘Leaning on a Lampost’, ‘The Sun Has got His Hat On’ and ‘Me and My Girl’.
The show is guaranteed to appeal everyone regardless of their age. John Bendall the Chairman of NAOS said: “It is great for the Society to be able to perform the very popular ‘Me and My Girl’ which is a fantastic show. It has an excellent and entertaining story and has some memorable songs which are instantly recognisable and will give our audiences that ‘feel good factor’ The show really will appeal to everyone and the society members are really looking forward to starting rehearsals.
We really hope that the Sun does have his hat on for what promises to be an entertaining and enjoyable night out” Auditions for the show will be held in October and the Society is always looking to expand the membership whether that be on stage or behind the scenes. More details about auditions will be released closer to the time.
